Good Treasure

"The good person out of the good treasure of the heart produces good, and the evil person out of evil treasure produces evil; for it is out of the abundance of the heart that the mouth speaks."

On the radio this morning I listened to an interview with the Dalai Lama. He has been in exile from his native Tibet for over fifty years and said that he bears no anger towards the Chinese authorities. Why have anger? He stated that such anger would only hurt himself.

It was a charming interview, as they normally are, full of chuckles. The interviewer said afterwards that it was the only time that her hand had been held during an interview.

I recognise such joyful human emotion when I hear Archbishop Desmond Tutu as well.

Do we store "good treasure" in our hearts?

The quote at the beginning? Said by Jesus Christ as recorded by Luke (Chapter 6, verse 45).

Happy treasure hunting ....
